Remapping FAQs
ECU remapping, gearbox tuning, supporting modifications and appointments.
Is remapping safe?
A professional remap starts with a healthy, well-maintained vehicle and a calibration suitable for its engine and drivetrain. We check vehicle health before tuning and discuss suitability first. Tuning changes operating demands; it is not a guarantee against component failure.
Will a remap damage my engine?
A suitable calibration and good maintenance help manage risk, but existing wear or faults can become more apparent after tuning. Regular servicing and correct maintenance remain essential.
How much power will I gain?
Power gains vary depending on the vehicle, engine and tuning stage. Send your registration and we can provide estimated figures for your specific vehicle.
Will my fuel economy improve?
On some vehicles, particularly diesels, fuel economy may improve if you drive in the same manner after the remap. Results vary, and using the extra performance can increase fuel consumption.
Can I return my vehicle to standard?
Yes, where supported, we can restore the vehicle to its original software. We retain an original software backup where supported. Returning to stock starts from Β£79.
Is a DSG or gearbox map worth it?
A compatible gearbox calibration can improve shift speeds, drivability and torque management. The available changes depend on the gearbox and its software; send your vehicle details for a compatibility check.
What modifications do I need for Stage 2?
Requirements vary by vehicle and calibration. Supporting hardware may include an intake, an appropriate sports-catalyst downpipe and an upgraded intercooler where required. We confirm the required specification and intended use before booking.
How long does a remap take?
Most Stage 1 remaps take around 1β2 hours, depending on the vehicle. Bench access, ECU unlocking or additional checks can take longer; we confirm an estimate when booking.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes. Booking ensures we can dedicate enough time to your vehicle. Send your registration, the service you want and your preferred appointment date.
